Higher Ground

Info

The poisoned seas rose long ago, and all the knowledge once so confidently stored in the clouds has been lost. Tailor has grown up in a coastal village perched above a deserted industrial city. But in a polluted world of radical beliefs, new science and cultural piracy, it is vulnerable to treasure hunters on the trail of the past. When the murder of a book thief attracts the attention of powerful outside forces, the whole community is put at risk. But who knows what? And who will they tell? Steeped in the northern landscape, Higher Ground weaves its vision of a post-climate change future into a literary mystery.

We recently had the chance to interview Julie about her book. You can read the full interview here.

Here’s what Julie says about working with us:
“When I came to Carnegie Scotforth Books as an independent author, I had a finalised text for my novel, and an illustration that I wanted to use for the cover, but I needed someone to take a professional lead on design, and see the book through production. I can’t speak too highly of Carnegie Scotforth, who welcomed me with open arms, listened to me, created some great options, and gave me all the information I needed to choose between them. I couldn’t be happier with the way Higher Ground has turned out, and look forward to what happens next – with Carnegie Scotforth’s support!”
